Lila's Glass began in 2002 after I took a stained glass class in Portland, Oregon. In 2003, I began teaching stained glass classes in both the copper foil and lead methods. Currently, I teach fused glass and mosaic classes at the Glenn and Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro, the Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation Center, and Art Frenzy in Saint Helens.
Lila's Glass creates one of a kind stained glass, fused glass, and mosaic pieces of glass art.
In 2001, I bought a mosaic lampshade kit online. When finished, I was so proud of my creation that I could not wait to place it in my new home. In my quest to find a base for my beloved shade, I ended up at a local Stained Glass studio. I took one look around the studio and knew that I wanted to work in glass art. I was completely amazed with the way the stained glass added color and beauty to a space along with how the glass looked differently with various degrees of light. I signed up for a class that day and kept coming back until I had taken every class that studio had to offer. After a year as a student, I started teaching stained glass in the copper foil and lead methods at that same studio. Currently, I teach fused glass and mosaics at various institutions in the Portland, Oregon area.
Your purchase today helps me feed my love of glass and provides me the chance to continue to teach others to find the joy in creating glass art for themselves.
