I have been designing and building fine furniture since 1989 when I completed an intensive, year-long apprenticeship with a master craftsman. In 1995 I opened my own studio which is located in Santa Fe County, New Mexico. My upcoming exhibits are listed on the homepage of my website (www.EarlNesbitt.com). Please let me know if you will be in the area of a show, and I can email you tickets. My work has been shown in galleries from Chicago to Santa Fe, and can be found in many homes and businesses throughout the country.
I use the highest quality materials and the finest craftsmanship to create one-of-a-kind pieces of collectible solid wood furniture. My pieces display solid wood so that its subtleties can be enjoyed: the way the grain moves through a sculpted piece, or the feel of a tabletop or a shaped edge. I combine traditional joinery techniques with innovations like my use of bent laminates and interlocking pegs to create unique design elements that are often functional as well as decorative. I use traditional tools such as chisels, handsaws and hand planes, as well as modern power tools both large and small. Durability is of the utmost importance: my pieces are built to last for generations. This along with limited production ensures the collectible promise of your investment.
